CBD oil vs CBD ointment: how each format is made

The CBD oils in this collection are carrier-oil tinctures. The hemp extract is mixed into MCT oil or hemp seed oil. You place a few drops under the tongue, hold them for a moment and then swallow. The dropper makes it easy to count the drops, and the label tells you how much CBD one drop contains.

CBD ointments are made differently. They combine emollients, waxes and hemp extract rich in cannabinoids into a smooth, spreadable texture. You apply a small amount to the skin and massage it in. The ointment stays on the skin surface, and the texture decides how fast it spreads and how it feels on the skin.

How to choose a CBD oil concentration

The CBD oils in this collection come in several concentrations. The label shows either a percentage or a total amount in milligrams. The range goes from lower concentrations (5–10 %) through mid-range options (15–20 %) up to stronger oils with 30 % and more. A stronger oil contains more CBD per drop, so you need fewer drops for the same amount of CBD.

The concentration changes the number of drops, not the product type. A 10 ml bottle at 30 % contains the same total amount of cannabinoids as a 30 ml bottle at 10 %. When you compare products, check both the percentage and the total volume to see the real value per bottle.
