A great long-lasting product, high potency, a feeling of relaxation after just one puff, which is a plus. As with synthetic cannabinoids, it temporarily raises your heart rate, but after longer use I don't see any side effects, just relaxation, I recommend it!

Hemp massage oil, hemp balm and hemp gel in one place: this collection brings together ten topical products for application on the skin. Whether you prefer the glide of a massage oil, the thick texture of a balm or the light feel of a gel, each format contains hemp extract as a main ingredient. A practical starting point if you want to build a hemp-based body care routine.
Hemp massage gels, balms and oils: formats compared
There are three formats in this collection. Each one behaves differently on the skin, and each one fits a different kind of use. When you know how they differ, it is easier to pick the right product instead of simply choosing the best-known name.
A hemp massage oil spreads easily and covers large areas quickly. The carrier oils, usually a blend of sweet almond, jojoba or hemp seed oil, give a smooth glide that suits longer massages. Good formulas leave little residue, but an oil absorbs slower into the skin than a gel.
Hemp balms are the thickest format. A base of wax or butter, often beeswax or shea butter, gives the balm its structure, so it stays where you apply it. This makes balms useful for small, defined areas. Warm a small amount between your fingers, then press it into the area instead of spreading it over a large zone.
Hemp gels are in between the two. A water-based gel absorbs faster than an oil and is easier to place than a balm. Many gels contain menthol or aloe vera, which gives the fresh, cool feel on the skin. This feel comes from these ingredients and not from the hemp extract.
Use the filters above to compare the range by format and cannabinoid profile.
Hemp balm vs hemp massage oil: texture and application
The practical difference between a hemp balm and a hemp massage oil comes down to two points: how large the area is, and how long you want the product to stay in place.
A hemp massage oil is the better choice for the whole back or the whole leg. A few drops warm up quickly in your palm, and the oil moves with your hands without creating drag. Most oils in this collection use cold-pressed hemp seed oil as a carrier, which adds its own fatty acids on top of the hemp extract.
A hemp balm is the better choice when you want to apply a product to one small area and leave it there. The thick texture means the balm does not run. It also means the ingredients stay on the surface of the skin for longer, which is the idea of a balm. Apply it with your fingers, not with a tool, so the warmth of your hand softens the texture before it touches the skin.
If you are new to hemp topicals, an oil is the easiest place to start. The format is simple, easy to measure and familiar from classic massage oils. Balms and gels are worth a try once you know where and how you like to use hemp topicals. The full Hemp & Health range includes more formats if you want to compare this collection with other options.
Hemp extract in massage oils, balms and gels
The hemp extract in topicals comes from the same plant as the hemp extract in oils for other uses, but it is made for application on the skin. This is why topical hemp products are listed separately from other hemp formats in our shop.
Depending on the product, the hemp extract in this collection is either broad-spectrum or an isolate. Broad-spectrum extract keeps several minor hemp compounds next to the main cannabinoid. Isolate formats contain one refined cannabinoid, usually CBD, at an exact content. Both types are part of this collection, and each product page states which one is used.
Hemp seed oil, which is used as a carrier in most products here, is not the same as hemp extract. Hemp seed oil is cold-pressed from the seeds and contains no relevant amount of cannabinoids. It adds fatty acids and a smooth texture. Hemp extract comes from the flowers and leaves of the plant and contains the cannabinoids. Most products in this collection contain both: the extract for the cannabinoid profile and hemp seed oil as part of the carrier.
